Welcome to the NAFIS Member School District Videos section.

Our school district members come from four subgroups - MISA (Military Impacted Schools Association), NIISA (National Indian Impacted Schools Association), Section 8002 (Federal Properties) and Mid- to Low-LOT Schools.

The links to the videos that follow showcase featured school districts and how they use the federal Impact Aid dollars that come into their districts. Each NAFIS member school district is unique, but each is tied to the others by a common thread that is Impact Aid.

Take some time to view these school district videos to see just how important Impact Aid is to public school systems across America.

We're just beginning our upload process. But stay tuned for even more videos.

MAKING DO CHALLENGE Videos:

"Federal funding is going to be tight over the next couple of years," said NAFIS Executive Director John B. Forkenbrock, "but we can't just sit on our hands and take what we get or we'll get nothing and will have no room to complain."

In light of the challenging times, NAFIS has decided to embark on the "Making Do Challenge!" - a competition to show Congress how schools are having a difficult time making ends meet and what they are doing - specifically regarding Impact Aid - to maintain their budgets in light of budget cuts.

Welcome to NAFIS

The National Association of Federally Impacted Schools (NAFIS) is a non-profit, non-partisan corporation of school districts from throughout the United States, organized primarily to educate Congress on the importance of Impact Aid.  Founded in 1973, the association works to ensure the needs of federally connected children are met with adequate federal funds. NAFIS represents children residing on Indian Lands, military children, children residing in low-rent housing projects, and children whose parents are civilian but work and/or live on federal property. NAFIS is governed by a board of directors elected from its membership. The association is located in Washington, D.C., with a full time professional staff under the leadership of an executive director.
